About us

Farming & agriculture partnerships

Partnerships and collaboration are key to our activities

We develop and share knowledge about hazelnut cultivation through long-term partnerships with farming and agricultural research institutes and universities around the world. We are actively working towards a sustainable and responsible value chain through our Agribusiness Development programme, and through partnerships and collective engagement.

Research institutes anduniversities

Our aim with these partnerships and collaborations is to improve hazelnut quality and productivity and to enhance sustainability. A key focus of our efforts going forward will be towards demonstrating the benefits of regenerative agriculture in developing our sustainable approaches to hazelnut cultivation.

Responsible Sourcing partners

Responsible Sourcing partners

We aim to be a driving force behind a hazelnut industry that creates value for all. Responsible sourcing is integral to ensuring a fair, sustainable and transparent value chain. The Ferrero Hazelnut Charter, which has been developed with Earthworm Foundation, outlines Ferrero’s requirements and commitments for the responsible sourcing of hazelnuts. We know more can be achieved together. We are working with trusted partners to continuously improve our value chain and fulfill our commitments in the Charter.

Development cooperation partners

We recognise the importance of long-term collective engagement in addressing social challenges in the sector. For example, we are partnering with the International Labour Organization (ILO), a specialised agency of the United Nations, on a project in Turkey (November 2020 – March 2024) with the aim of contributing to the elimination of child labour in seasonal agriculture in hazelnut harvesting. The partnership is a public-private partnerships (PPP) bringing together national, regional and local authorities, as well as private sector actors and civil society. Through our Agribusiness Development programme, we partner with other stakeholders, including local NGOs and universities to raise awareness and improve social practices.
